Story behind the image:
The painting was inspired by a dream which began with gazing into a pool of water that had collected inside of a stalagmite. As I stared at it, it became a lake, surrounded by trees. Then a bird appeared, walking into the center of the lake. Another bird appeared, and then another, until I found myself watching several birds walking around each other in circles. I didn’t know what the dream meant, but upon awakening, I wrote it down and noted the fact that they were creatures of the air that were walking upright (like humans), but in water. It seemed to symbolize all of nature for me, and my sense of wonder for worlds unseen to the human senses.
