This card’s image is printed on matte photo paper, which is adhered to an archival card stock.  Blank inside, perfect for all occasions.  The card measures 4.5×6″, and comes with a natural cream envelope, optionally packaged in an acid-free clear bag.

(Please note that this card and all of the cards that include a border are not created on recycled paper, or with soy inks.  Each of these cards are created by hand instead of a large print run).

The story behind the image:

This painting began as an acrylic monoprint, in which I pressed the painting directly into a layer of paint, then pulled the paper away, creating an abstract texture. I had just created “Emergence”, another owl painting, so I almost didn’t follow my inclination to paint yet another owl… thinking I’d try something different. But the painting clearly wanted to be an owl, since that’s all I could see in it. This time a woman emerged beneath her, so I decided it felt as if the owl was a sort of “guardian” for her. My preference is to allow the painting to become whatever most deliberately presents itself. I am often in an almost trance-like state when I paint in this manner… and I rarely feel that the painting takes the wrong direction if I follow my intuition!
