Raised by a scientist father in a family that frequently had conversations revolving around micro-organisms at the dinner table, it’s little wonder that when I look at a flower I also think about the critters under the ground that help it grow… and the insects that spread pollen, etc. It’s all a part of the circle of life. To me, it’s ALL beautiful.
The painting was created with oil on birch plywood. The patterned areas on black are all carved, so there’s a textural surface.

Thanks so much for your comment, Moona. Yes, painting is one of the things that keeps me grounded. Sadly, sometimes it is hard to make time for it while focusing on making a living. But I do intend to change this… i.e., change my attitude of making time to paint after paying the bills to one of BELIEVING that it will in itself pave my way. That’s the way it ought to be, right? If you have a website, feel free to post it so that I can see what you’ve been up to!
